Chicago City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza to host Community Startups

WHO:  Chicago City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza

WHAT: Chicago City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza will meet with young entrepreneurs from Chicago Startups as part of their summer launch program. Community Startups is an organization dedicated to bringing socially impactful ideas, created by youth, to market. They work with Chicago Public School students to look at complex societal problems as opportunities to create innovative tech products that can improve their communities. 

During the launch event, students will learn about the role the Chicago government plays in creating a friendly business environment. They will be introduced to and explore the different incentives offered by the City for startups, as well as the process of registering a business.

Throughout the summer, the students will embark on an entrepreneurial journey, bringing social impact ideas to market in efforts to generate revenue for educational scholarships. They will work with professional mentors, corporate teams and community partners to launch their products, generate revenue and create scholarships for their future.

Media is invited to the introduction portion of the event beginning at 1:00 pm until 1:30 pm.
