City Clerk Mendoza Supports Chicago Firefighters and Police at Annual Charity Softball Game
On Sunday City Clerk Susana A. Mendoza cheered on the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni, Firemen, and Police in their 5th Annual Charity Softball Classic game! The annual event benefited the Chicago Firefighters' EMWQ Retirees', Widows' and Children's Assistance Fund and the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. Clerk Mendoza is a board member for the Chicago Firemen's Annuity and Benefit Fund.
Chicago Blackhawks alumni and current players faced off in a classic 16 inch softball game with members of the Chicago police and fire departments. The game took place at Saint Xavier University in Chicago's Mt. Greenwood neighborhood.
"I'm proud to support Chicago's heroes – our fire and police personnel – in any way I can," said Clerk Mendoza. “These brave men and women work hard every day to protect us. Events like the Blackhawks Charity Softball Classic are a great way for the community to come together and thank them for all they do."
