Clerk Mendoza and Aldermen Partner to Offer Dedicated Sale Day in Each Ward.

Once again City Clerk Susana Mendoza and each Alderman have teamed up to give Chicago motorists the chance to purchase their city vehicle stickers near their homes. Each year the City Clerk’s Office offers a dedicated sales day in every city Ward, providing additional convenience for purchasing city stickers.

City Vehicle Sticker Ward Sale dates start today and run through July 11. A complete list of ward sales locations can be found at chicityclerk.com on the City Stickers & Parking page, “How to Buy” menu option. Each ward has at least one dedicated sales day, with Clerk Mendoza adding multiple days in select high volume ward sales.

“Our City Vehicle Sticker sales in each ward office are always very popular. I’m proud to partner with each Alderman to offer this convenient service,” said Clerk Mendoza. “Like last year, this year I will be going to each ward sale to see our operations first-hand and hear ideas from Chicago drivers on how we can improve our sticker sales and services to constituents.”

The 2011 – 2012 city vehicle stickers expire June 30, 2012. Clerk Mendoza allows a 15 day grace period before enforcement of the 2012 – 2013 city vehicle stickers begins July 16.

A City Vehicle Sticker is required for a resident of Chicago who has a car and parks the car in Chicago, regardless of where the car is registered. The cost of a passenger City Vehicle Sticker is $85 and larger passenger City Vehicle Stickers are $135. Senior citizens, age 65 and older, are eligible to receive one sticker for $30. Annual Residential Zone Parking is $25 and Daily Residential Parking Permits are $8 for 15 permits. Motorists who purchase their sticker after July 15 are subject to a $60 late fee and could receive a $200 citation.

To purchase a City Vehicle Sticker, residents must bring their driver’s license or renewal form and know their vehicle license plate number. In addition, motorists must know their vehicle make and model as the City Vehicle Sticker now contains this information as another security feature.
