Substantive Legislative Proposals

Substantive legislative proposals are ordinances, orders, resolutions and communications introduced by the Mayor (which include departmental proposals), the members of the City Council, the City Clerk and the general public (through submission to and introduction by the City Clerk) at the meeting date(s) noted. The legislative proposals contained in this section are noteworthy in scope, substance or relevance and include, but are not limited to, the following subjects: appointments; municipal code amendments; tax increment financing district initiatives; settlement orders; redevelopment project agreements; land subdivisions; property sales, exchanges, leases and acquisitions; historic landmark designations; formal statements or expressions of opinion by the Mayor and members of the City Council; and establishment or amendment of departmental directives, authority or jurisdiction.

Items are classified under the meeting date in which they were introduced and contain a citation that identifies the document tracking number, the origin or sponsor of the proposal, the committee where such legislation has been referred and a brief synopsis of the subject matter (see "Abbreviations And Codes"). When an item is introduced by an alderman, the last name and ward number is provided, while matters introduced by City officers will show the title of the officer (e.g.: Mayor, City Clerk).
